When it comes to bars, the River City is my home away from home. Back in the day I used to call it the River Shitty cause, well, it was pretty shitty. After it changed owners, it turned into my favorite bar in town. You can find me here after work enjoying a beverage and maybe playing some ping pong, Sundays for football, and most definitely late night rocking out to an amazing band. What I'm trying to say is, this place is a go to spot for any type of outing you're looking for. Ping pong, pool table, darts, plenty of TVs to cheer on your favorite teams, happy hour, live music (good live music at that), sometimes a DJ and the most important part (in my mind) the staff and owner. Always friendly, knock out tasty drinks, and working their bums off. Some of my most favorite Hood River nights start with, "Remember that one night we were at the River City...."

Chick bartender was the absolute worst. Very expensive drinks and weak. Very poor service. Fun bar but they need to move on with the cranky fluffy woman bartender.

I recently read one of the service reviews and almost didn't check this place out. We decided to see for ourselves and found that we liked it. There's a long bar with alot of seating, which I liked since that's usually where I like to place myself. The bartender(slender, strawberry blonde) was friendly and attentive. We had already eaten dinner but I saw the wings coming out of the kitchen and they looked really good, so we will be back to check out the food. Hopefully this will be one of our regular stops. We'll be back soon.

On vacation and this place was recommended to watch the Seahawks game. Let me tell you this place did not disappoint. Awesome friendly staff, great food, and awesome selection of beers! We will be back and will always recommend this place!

What a nightmare, this place totally ruined my road trip. Also, never coming back to Hood River ever again after this. Had to sit at a dirty table and split it with two college guys who were talking about doing shots, being obnoxious, ect....I understand that this is a sports bar and there was a ducks game going on but my orders were messed up three times, asked for different sauce for tots since im lactose intolerant and they brought them covered in spilled ranch. Received the extra sauce when I was done with the meal and waiting around for the check. Waitress looked mad I didnt want to take the containers of sauce with me? Asked how much well drinks were when I got there since the bar nor the drink menu mentioned it. Waitress told me she didnt know. Ordered anyway and they made the wrong things. Immediately asked if I wanted to add stuff on my orders when we did decide what we wanted to eat. I figured it was like her first day so I said whatever and let her upsell my salads. Ended up paying .50 each for all those sauces I asked for the tatter tots but i didnt actually get. Ill never recommend this place or city to anyone, why would I when I could go to Bridgeport or NW 23rd and receive a lot better service for such shitty ambiance and price. As soon as me and my dinner guest walked out of this lovely establishment we were greeted by the most foul words being yelled out of some guys car as he drove by. These things dont all pertain to the bar but I dont think towns have yelp reviews. It was all an absolute nightmare and the people that work in the stores surrounding this bar were kinda slow and rude. I really dont have anything good to say about this place. I expect this kind of stuff in Gresham, not somewhere that so many people I know have vacation homes.

Only came because every other place was closed as we tried to grab a cocktail after ten (gasp!). Thankfully, the bartender at Double mountain recommended this place and it is great. Little five bar with friendly staff and a full bar. Excellent beer choices, as to be expected in this area of the world. Had the Double Mountain IRA and was not disappointed. Come one,come all for last call at 11 pm! ;)

Great burgers! Sweet potato fries.. lots of great beers on tap. Friendly bartenders. Ranch dressing is really good, tastes like homemade. I've been going here for two years and love it. Good mixed crowd, come as you are. Lots of TVs to watch games.

Closest thing to a real sports bar in the hood river area, Great selection of Micro and Macro beers, cider and spirits, normally have band most nights, Decent food also. my go to bar for sports unless its a morning game (then the red carpet inn is your only choice)
